Kate's Fish Camp is an Old-time Fish camp Family owned and operated since 1961. Kate’s is located at the intersection of Prairie creek and Hawthorne road;
direct access to Newnan’s Lake and The Gainesville-Hawthorne trail.
Kate’s Fish Camp rents: Boats and Motors, Canoes & Kayaks
And provides access to: Fishing, Camping, Bicycling, Birding, Boating, Canoeing, Hiking, Kayaking, with enough room to facilitate large groups for Outdoor events! Surrounded by miles of conservation land, You may come and just relax by the water to let your thoughts wonder, or catch your breath to finish your trail trek. You can rent a canoe, top water kayak or row boat ($ 15.00 half day) Boats and motor rentals starting at ($ 35.00 half day) Kate’s is open from daylight until dark, everyday.

You too can canoe the Potano Paddling Trail on Prairie Creek. Named after the Potano Indians who lived here from 700 A.D. to 1702 before Spanish Exploration. Go it alone or with a group; Gainesville Paddle Group meets every month at Kate’s Fish Camp to Paddle the waters of Newnan’s lake and Prairie creek. The group is free and everyone is welcome to attend. If you have your own vessel bring it along; if not Kate’s offers a great paddle day rate for $ 5.00 a spot that includes your paddle, safety vest, whistle, and tax.
