Newnan’s Lake is an expansive 6,000 acres, full of  life.  Ospreys, Otters, Alligators just to name a few….this lake has so much to offer, it doesn’t take long to understand why it was so appealing to the coastal Indians that  prospered here for some 10,000 years before civilization was introduced to Florida.  Pithlachocco, is the name the natives gave, meaning lake where boats are made….and with recent discoveries of the canoe cache’ found on the north shore in 2001, we are brought even closer to understanding what this incredible lake has to offer.
